ELIGIBILITY

The Create Awards is open to all creative professionals and students. All work accepted into the Create Awards must have first appeared in the marketplace between April 1, 2007 and May 30, 2008. Excluding Student and Self Promotion entries, all work must have been produced for commercial purposes and be the result of paid or pro bono creative services. Entries may be submitted by any business or person involved in creating or producing the work, granted proper permissions are obtained and copyrights are observed. All entries must be final versions.

AWARDS

The top scoring professional entries in each individual discipline will be recognized as a Silver or Gold winner based on score. The Gold winner with the highest overall score will be recognized as the Best of Category winner. Best of Category winners based on a performance scale are calculated, and one entry from each of eight industry categories and one Self Promotion category will be recognized as a Best of Industry winner. The nine final Best of Industry winners are judged to determine the Best of Show Dream Studio Prize Package winner. Student entries are judged separately from professionals but based on the same criteria. The final Student Best of Industry winners will be judged to determine the Student Best of Show winner. Student entries are not eligible to win the Best of Show Dream Studio Prize. All Gold winners receive a certificate as well as one (1) All-Access, Full Conference pass to Create Chaos 2008 during October in Orlando, FL. ($995 value). (Only one pass per entrant, not entry.) Best of Campaign Category winner will receive up to five (5) All-Access, Full Conference passes to Create Chaos. www.createchaos.com

WINNING ENTRIES

After judging is completed, winners will be notified via e-mail by September 4, 2008. At that time, proper credits, proof of rights clearances and any additional requests will be made. Create Magazine will not publish in print or online, any winning entries for which requests for adequate proof of rights have been made, but not received. All winners will receive their awards during the month of October 2008. Winners are responsible for any taxes associated with any prizes. All professional entries are eligible for the Best of Industry Prizes and Best of Show Dream Studio Prize Package. All student entries are eligible for the Student Best of Show prize. Good luck!

ENTRY FEES

The Create Awards single entry fee is $30, series entry fee is $45, and campaign entry fee is $75 for all professional submissions postmarked before May 30, 2008. Between June 1, 2008 and June 27, 2008, the entry fee is $40 for single entries, $55 for series and $85 for campaigns, and entries received late between June 28, 2008 and July 7, 2008 will be charged $50 for single entries, $65 for series and $95 for campaign entries. A series is defined as including 3 to 5 pieces in one entry, which are judged as one entry in a single subcategory. A campaign/mixed media entry is defined as 3 to 5 items in different mediums with the same focus to fulfill an advertising or creative campaign. (Campaign/mixed media entries will be judged as a whole.) All entries must be received by July 7, 2008 in order to be judged. There are no additional fees if your entry is selected as a Silver, Gold, Best of Category, Best of Industry or Best of Show winner. One entry fee per piece, per category. Work entered into multiple categories is eligible to win multiple awards. Student entry fees are $15 per entry for all entries received before July 7, 2008. Entrants entering five or more single or series entries will receive a discounted rate of $25 per entry before June 27, 2008. We accept checks made out to Create Magazine or payment via credit card. Do not send cash. All entry fees are non-refundable.

HOW TO ENTER

Payment for entry fees or a payment receipt must accompany your entries. No information identifying the entrant should appear on the face of the entry. Excluding the Self Promotion category and pieces produced for the entrant, entries that contain entrant's name/company visible while judging in a manner not associated with the actual piece, will not be judged. Complete one Entry Form per company/individual submitting the work, and one Entry Tag for each piece submitted. Make actual size photocopies of the Entry Tags as needed and attach to each piece separately. The Create Awards and Create Magazine are not responsible for damage or loss of any entry. Entries will not be returned. Submitters of any work to the Create Awards acknowledge the right of Create Magazine to use images of that work in its print publications, and on its Web sites. The Create Awards is minimizing its carbon footprint! Enter online at www.thecreateawards.com. Entrants can upload electronic files, fill out Entry Tags and pay by credit card with the online process. If your item is too large to send, or you don't want to part with your only copy, a hi-res image (no larger than 5 MB) of your work must be submitted via our online entry system.

FILM, VIDEO, AUDIO AND MOTION GRAPHICS ENTRIES: All entries in this category must be submitted online. Entry Tags and uploaded fi le should be sent to the Create Awards through our Web site - no need to print anything, unless you are paying by mail. Submit entries 2 minutes or less in length. Audio entries are accepted wav or MP3 format only. Film and Video entries will be accepted in QuickTime, Windows Media, avi and MP4 formats only. Only the first 2 minutes will be judged - please edit accordingly!

PHOTOGRAPHY: SINGLE IMAGES: All entries in this category must be submitted online. Entry Tags and uploaded file should be sent to the Create Awards through our Web site - no need to print anything, unless you are paying by mail. Please do not send physical photos in this particular category. Digital images should be no more than 5 MB and be able to appear near full screen on a standard hi-res display.

INTERACTIVE WEB: All entries in this category must be submitted online. Entry Tags and uploaded file/URL should be sent to the Create Awards through our Web site - no need to print anything, unless you are paying by mail.

INTERACTIVE OTHER: All entries in this category must be submitted online. Do not submit executable files that will attempt to install software onto the judges' computers. These will not be judged. All work submitted should play in a self-contained player in standard MAC OS or WINDOWS operating systems. Entries requiring additional software, fonts or other non-standard technology will not be judged. NOTE: No information identifying the entrant should appear on the face of the entry. Each piece requires a separate Entry Tag. Create Magazine is not responsible for incorrect attributions of credits on entries. Entrants will not be notifi ed of entry receipt. MORE STUFF This awards competition is open to individuals eighteen (18) years of age or older. Proof of age and identity must be furnished upon request. Employees, agents, independent dealers and affiliates of Create Magazine and its agents, affiliates and immediate family members of all such person, are not eligible to participate in this competition. Create Magazine reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, suspend or amend this competition at any time for any reason. Create Magazine further reserves the right to amend these official rules at any time without prior notice, at its sole discretion. Create Magazine reserves the right to disqualify any participant for any reason, including, but not limited to, violation of these Official Rules or infringement of the rights of a third-party.

MISCELLANEOUS

This competition is void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. By entering this competition, each participant warrants that he or she has read and agrees to abide by all rules and that he or she is not prohibited from participating. Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Create Magazine, and its parents, affiliates, employees and agents, which are final, binding and non-negotiable in all respects. Each participant agrees to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Create Magazine and its parents affiliates, shareholders, employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies and prize sponsors from any liability arising from or related to the competition, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. By entering, entrants consent to the use of their entry, name or likeness for any reason without additional compensation. Names collected may be used for future marketing purposes. Further, entrants fully and unconditionally release all claims for consideration, copyright infringement and all other claims of any nature relating to the use of their entry, name or likeness.
